New Program for Children with Special Needs
The City of Brampton introduced a new program in September of 2008, for children and youth with special needs. With the assistance of one-to-one leaders, participants with special needs may take part in mainstream classes all across Brampton. Currently they offer programs in: swimming, dance, basketball, floor hockey, skiing, skating, arts & crafts, and cooking. However, the program is always growing, and new programs are being added weekly. For more information please call Katrina Bolak, Director of Integration at (905) 874 – 2828 or via email at katrina.bolak@city.brampton.on.ca

Creative Sparks
The Creative Sparks Web Site displays what happens in the minds, feelings and lives of people with a condition called epilepsy that is too often misdiagnosed and misunderstood. If a “picture speaks a thousand words” then hopefully this on-line exhibition of the art of people living with epilepsy and the associated study of the influences of epilepsy in visual art will bring about a better understanding of this neurological condition and of the people behind the art. www.artandepilepsy.com
